Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Remote Medical Coder to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Remote Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home. Key Responsibilities Review and accurately assign medical codes to patient records using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems Ensure all codes are in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify any coding discrepancies Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses Keep up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations Meet productivity and quality standards set by the company Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably in a chiropractic setting Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Comfortable working remotely and using electronic medical records systems Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality Contract Details This is a part-time, remote position with flexible hours. The contract will be for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
