Job Description This role encompasses global ownership of professional education strategy, governance, and execution across all CooperSurgical for fertility and medical device portfolios for HCP, embryologists and scientists. The Head of Professional Education sets enterprise-wide standards for program design, faculty engagement, delivery models, and measurement of educational effectiveness. This leader partners closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, and R&D to ensure education initiatives are aligned with business priorities, lifecycle strategies, and compliance requirements, while enabling consistent, high-quality experiences for healthcare professionals worldwide. The Director of Professional Education will lead global professional education initiatives for fertility and medical device portfolios. This role oversees education programs for healthcare providers, embryologists, and scientists worldwide, ensuring innovative, compliant, and impactful learning experiences. This role ensures that clinicians are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely and effectively use CooperSurgical technologies; while advancing clinical excellence, product adoption, and improved patient outcomes. The position requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance CooperSurgical’s scientific leadership. Responsibilities Essential Functions & Accountabilities: Strategic Leadership Provide global leadership for professional education teams focused on fertility and medical devices. Develop and execute a global professional education strategy for healthcare providers, embryologists, and scientists across international markets aligned with CooperSurgical’s commercial objectives, clinical evidence, regulatory requirements, and brand values. Serve as the enterprise leader for HCP education, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across regions and product lines. Partner with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, Sales, and R&D to ensure education programs support business priorities and lifecycle goals. Program Development & Execution Lead the development and implementation of healthcare simulation programs, collaborating with internal and external healthcare leaders to design, develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum, courses, scenarios, and related initiatives, including: In-person and virtual training programs Product certification and onboarding Procedural training and simulation-based learning Peer-to-peer education and faculty-led programs Congresses, workshops, and symposia Ensure scientific accuracy, adult learning best practices, and measurable learning outcomes across all education formats. Leverage digital platforms and emerging technologies to enhance reach, engagement, and scalability. Design and deliver innovative educational offerings, including simulation-based programs, digital learning, and hands-on training. Ensure all programs comply with global regulatory standards and external accrediting body requirements. Monitor emerging trends in education technology and healthcare simulation to continuously improve offerings. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure education effectiveness, engagement, and business impact. Use data and insights to drive continuous improvement of content, delivery models, and learner experience. Regularly report outcomes, trends, and opportunities to senior leadership. KOL Engagement Identify, develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with a global network of clinical faculty, key opinion leaders (KOLs), educators, and professional societies to enhance educational reach and credibility. Oversee faculty training, onboarding, and performance to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality program delivery. Compliance & Governance Oversee program audits and maintain readiness for global compliance reviews. Ensure all professional education activities comply with applicable regulations, industry codes (e.g., Advamed, Pharma), internal policies, and global/local legal requirements. Establish governance processes, documentation standards, and audit readiness for all educational programs. Collaborate closely with cross functional partners to maintain appropriate educational independence and promotional boundaries. People Leadership & Operations Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global professional education team. Establish clear roles, capabilities, and performance expectations, coach and mentor team members for growth and succession. Own professional education budgets, vendor partnerships, and resource allocation to maximize ROI. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a global perspective. Strategic thinker with ability to innovate and adapt educational programs for diverse audiences. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Proficiency in leveraging technology for education delivery, including simulation platforms and digital learning tools. Work Environment Regular use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. May involve extended periods of sitting, as well as occasional standing, walking, and lifting of materials up to 30 lbs. during travel or event setup. Experience Minimum of 10+ years of related professional experience, including at least 7 years in a managerial role. Experience in healthcare, hospital systems, or non-profit organizations preferred. Proven track record in managing global education programs with compliance to external accrediting bodies and audit requirements. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, curriculum development, and simulation-based education. Education Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Business Administration, Education, or Strategic Communications preferred. Travel Over 50% global travel.
