General Production Worker Location: St. Joseph, Missouri, United States Triumph Foods, LLC (Triumph) is a leader in the pork industry and is recognized as a top exporter of premium pork products worldwide. Triumph’s state-of-the-art facility processes in excess of 6 million hogs each year and features the latest food quality, safety innovations and humane handling practices in the industry. DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for entry-level non-skilled labor while conforming to company standards for safety, attendance and personal conduct. It involves repetitive motions for up to ten hours a day for six days a week. Working conditions can range from the cold side at 28°F and damp to the kill side at 100°F and humid. These jobs require the use of a knife or other hand tool. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Applicants will be considered for any general laborer role such as kill floor or cut/conversion. REQUIREMENTS Qualified applicants must have a minimum of six months of continuous work experience in the previous year. Work history must represent gainful employment and be verifiable. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak; hear, taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to climb ladders and platforms, enter confined spaces and wear all safety equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty pounds or more. Specific work-environment characteristics: Regularly exposed to cold, hot and/or humid conditions, climate extremes are found in all areas of the plant Frequently works near machinery with moving parts and vibration Regularly exposed to strong odors and the sight of blood Regular exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals, hazardous material and waste as well as fumes or airborne particles Risk of electrical shock and vibration Noise level in the work environment is moderate but can be loud when in the production area Applications submitted that are incomplete or do not reflect education, skills and abilities within the stated minimum qualifications will not be considered in the application process.
