DescriptionOur Food Runners are an extension of our chef and kitchen, by not only delivering food to our guests, but presenting the
food to guests in an exciting and informative manner. The Food Runner should know all details of each dish, including details
of the ingredients, preparation techniques, and all of the chef’s notes surrounding each dish. This information should be
shared in a creative way to our guests to enhance their experience.
The Food Runner is responsible for delivering the right dish, to the right table, to the right guest, with the correct serving
utensils needed. The food runner will also support the front of house team, looking out for areas of opportunity and
assisting, as needed, to ensure guests are well-taken care of.
Qualities required:
- Have a minimum 2 years' experience in hospitality or customer service.
- Be friendly, social, and like to interact with staff and guests; Be a team player.
- Be very meticulous, efficient, and open to learning and suggestions
- Be prompt, reliable, and always carry a gracious and hospitable attitude
- Have a minimum knowledge of food and beverage.
- Have a strong personality. Be determined to deliver a detailed and high level of luxury service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare trays, plates, utensils, and napkins for service.
- Assist the kitchen with setup and restocking plateware throughout the shift.
- Efficiently deliver food from the kitchen to the guest.
- Have knowledge of every menu item and ability to explain to guests in full detail.
- Act as liaison between the service staff and the kitchen regarding special requests or restrictions. Must work closely
with the captains and kitchen to ensure efficient timing of food.
- Set up and close the expediting station in the kitchen.
- Communicate counts of items and 86’d items to the wait staff, bartenders and managers.
- Be able to do all tableside moves.
- Be able to lift and carry heavy trays throughout the restaurant.
- Mark and clear tables, as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the proper level of service on the floor at all times.
- Assist with polishing duties.
- Prepare and serve coffee and tea to the highest standard and able to interact with guests in full detail.
- Set up and breakdown the coffee station before and after each shift.
- Assist in maintaining the proper level of service on the floor and at the bar at all times.
- Acknowledge guests about food details and serve dishes following standard and order.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by management.
