Ambulance Driver

Responsible for the operation of the wheelchair and alternative transport units as defined by Medshore Ambulance Service Driving Policy. Responsible for the daily inspection and minor maintenance of the wheelchair and alternative transport units, as well as necessary equipment utilized to transport wheelchair and physically challenged individuals.

Description of duties:

1. Inspects vehicle at beginning and end of shift according to established procedures.
2. Completes appropriate vehicle checklist.
3. Reports and relays needed repairs, etc., to supervisor.
4. Responsible for safe transport of patients and riders.
5. Responsible for a full knowledge of the vehicle's equipment and its proper use at all times.
6. Upon arrival at destination, responsible for cleaning, restocking equipment, supplies, and placing the vehicle back in service.
7. Does not use professional knowledge and skills in any enterprise detrimental to the Company or the public well-being.
8. Respects and holds in confidence all information of a confidential nature obtained in the course of professional work unless required by law to divulge such information.
9. Responsible for upholding company standards.
10. Adheres to standards of personal ethics, on and off duty, which reflect credit upon the profession.
11. Protects the public by not delegating to persons less qualified, any service which requires the professional competence of a Medical Transport Technician.
12. Refuses to participate in unethical procedures and assumes the responsibility to expose incompetence or unethical conduct of other to the appropriate authority in a proper and professional manner.
13. Performs other duties as required by a supervisor.

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift 125lbs or more.
